Established software development company near San Francisco is seeking a developer who has background in compiler or linker or debugger internals. Additional background or interest in security and hacking desired.
You will be delivering commercial software. The compiler/debugger issues are resident in the products but are not always the direct focus of the finished product.
Salary range from $80's up into low $100's plus other incentives.
Qualifications
Take over existing code and redevelop. Apply your years of building commercial software products.
Program in C & C++, some assembly language.
Windows, Wind River, Solaris, Linux, platform background.
Startup experience.
Background developing real-time, embedded software particularly in VxWorks.
I'm posting on Compiler Jobs as I know many compiler people have worked on other, related internals projects. In this case the need is for someone with at least some database internals, database kernel experience. A mix of database and compiler experience would be fine but the project presently involves almost completely database development. In the past there was extensive use made of compiler technology to develop other, related products, same operation.
Qualifications
Exceptional C or C++ development skills
- Superior Unix knowledge, good Windows knowledge
- Database internals knowledge and experience, must have built at least one database product in the past
- Startup experience desired
- Small team development experience important
- One of the positions could evolve into architect role
- Driven and willing to put in extra time as needed (from home)
- One of the positions should have SQL stack experience/knowledge
(parser, optimizer, plan trees, JDBC/ODBC)
- One of the positions should have extensive storage manager experience
(disk/cache manager, file/raw disk systems, ACID properties, recovery)
- Replication and hot spares experience would be good for one of the positions
- It would be great if one of these positions could focus on the performance aspects of the DB
Basically we need DB internals developers for the SQL/JDBC/ODBC stack and the storage manager. Both these positions require developers who have done it before. These are both senior level positions.
Strong preference for a person in the NY, NJ, CT area.
