Description Tools Development Engineer. Role: The primary responsibility is to continue development of the GNU tool chain (compiler, binutils, gdb debugger) that has been ported to the FirePath processor. The applicant will be part of a small team which has responsibility for the whole software development toolchain, which includes various other custom tools. The candidate will also be involved in the development of application software and should therefore be sufficiently flexible to cope with such activities. Requirements: Good relevant degree; Minimum of 3 years experience; Strong software engineering skills; Languages: C, scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python); Tools development background; Exposure to compiler development (ideally GCC).

Description Our client seeks Toolchain Engineers to join the Programming Tools/Models team. Applications are invited from Junior candidates (perhaps recent graduates) and engineers with experience gained at an established toolchain/processor development company. Must have excellent academic background with at least a 2.1 degree. Experienced engineers to have a cross-functional understanding of processor architecture/processor and system development and experience including professional software engineering in C / Assembly on both host/embedded systems, developing/debugging low-level system software/device drivers, working closely with hardware design/verification teams (using Verilog, SystemC, Specman, RTL simulation/emulation). Good communication skills, methodical approach, solid engineering ability. Additional wireless-specific experience advantageous. ROLE: Produce software models of SoC devices, together with low-level drivers, integrate/debug and verify software/hardware systems; Analyzing/optimizing deeply embedded software, developing software tools; Assisting overall development of processor software/hardware ecosystem.
Qualifications Candidates should have an excellent academic background (at least a 2.1 degree) Potentially two roles are available - one suiting a more junior candidate (perhaps a recent graduate), the other suiting a more experienced engineer (with experience working for a well respected toolchain/processor development company.
