Description Reporting to the Dir. of Applications, the Sr. Field Applications Engineer will provide hardware and software technical support for our products. You will also be responsible for customer pre-sales and post-sales technical support and will provide feedback to business units on customer product requirements and programs.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Sales team in their efforts to secure new business.
Support customers during design, testing, and debugging phases of their product development.
Provide technical training to customers, resellers and distributors as well as internal sales personnel.
Author application notes and articles.
Design/develop/support evaluation and reference platforms for our integrated circuits.
Participate in industry groups critical to our core business.

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. or B.A. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of direct field applications or factory applications experience supporting customers with semiconductor based standard products
- Prior experience supporting customers with embedded system software development tools is a requirement. (Specifically Java and ANSI C compilers and debuggers).
- Prior experience in imaging and/or printer products is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of standard industry standard IP (e.g. ARM, USB, LCD controllers, PCI, Flash Memory)
- Familiarity with PC, Communications, and/or Consumer products.
- Must possess good analytical and system troubleshooting skills.
- Must possess outstanding communications skills and be able to present highly technical materials to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of Imaging Algorithms (jpeg, bmp, gif...etc) a big plus!
- Must be available to travel frequently as needed!

You will apply these techniques to a parallel hardware description language (Verilog/VHDL) Compiler that targets a special purpose VLIW architecture for simulation.
Qualifications Requirements:
o MS CS or equivalent with 6+ years or PhD with 1-2 years
o Experience in multi-person, large software project teams
o Software Development experience in a Unix/C++ Environment
o Experience in developing Graph Algorithms
o Experience in developing Code Optimization Phases
o Dataflow Analysis

Preferred Experience:
o Loop Restructuring/Optimization
o Knowledge of HDL Semantics and Simulation Algorithms
o Partitioning/Scheduling of Parallel Programs
