Description RTOS, Linux Kernel and GNU Tools for MIPS CPU, To 45K, to develop low level bring-up code and firmware as well as run-time libraries for advanced MIPS processor cores and perform maintenance and development of GNU tools such as compilers, linkers and debuggers

MIPS Technologies design and licence the highest performance 32 and 64 bit RISC processor architectures and cores currently available today. Their products have led the way and have become the industry standard, being used in a multitude of products such as digital consumer, broadcast and business applications.

You will have a good level of RTOS and some Linux Kernel development experience in a multi-threaded environment and will have written bring-up code and general firmware. Additionally you will have worked on tool chain components such as compilers, debuggers, linkers and run-time libraries. The role will alternate between the two sets of skills and you will find yourself in a varied environment working on a range of products. Knowledge of compilers, code simulators, linkers, debuggers and other components that comprise a CPU tool chain would be advantageous, as would knowledge of MIPS CPU (or other processor) architecture.

Package; Salary up to 45,000 pa, 25 days holiday, 10% non-contributory pension scheme and 3x life cover.

Description GNU Toolchain for MIPS CPU Architecture, RTOS and Linux, To 45K, to develop and maintain new and existing GNU tools such as compilers, simulators and libraries and do a mix of Linux and real time operating systems development in a multi-threaded environment.

You will be a tool chain programmer who has worked on GNU tools development. In depth knowledge of compilers, code simulators, linkers, debuggers and other components that comprise a CPU tool set is essential. RTOS, multi-threaded and Linux software programming experience would be advantageous, as would good knowledge of MIPS CPU (or other processors) architecture.

Description: MIPS Technologies - C Programmer, GNU Toolchain Development Guru, Team lead Exclusive to PCR - Cambridgeshire, East Anglia, Salary to 70K. To provide team and technical leadership as well as hands on development of GNU compilers and associated tools for MIPS Processor cores.

For this role you will quite simply be a GNU guru. You will know the GNU environment inside out and will have developed tools using C for several years. You will know the internals of the GNU compiler gcc and will have a thorough understanding of RISC architectures. If you have specific experience of the MIPS Architecture, this will be a big plus but knowledge of other processors is advantageous. Additionally you will have experience of team leadership and technical mentoring of engineers. This is a very senior role and as such will need the technical and managerial skills to help deliver very tight deadline projects on time.
