Our client, an exciting venture backed EDA tools start-up producing groundbreaking products blending hardware and software technologies to provide development environments for Multiple Processor Systems on Chips, has a vacancy for a development engineer to join their team developing a Multi-Processor Simulator.

Candidates will be degree qualified and have experience programming in assembler and C under a Unix (Linux/Sun included) development environment. Experience should be in compiler backend, interpreter development or similar as well as knowledge of microprocessor architectures. Any of the following experience would be highly beneficial but not an absolute requirement: I86 assembler, Development under Windows, Embedded Application development or EDA simulator development.

Our client urgently requires an experienced compiler engineer - someone who has experience of porting compilers, linkers etc. to new instruction sets, analysing the generated code, improving the code generator, register allocator and so on to improve the compiler optimizations. Any familiarity with SIMD/VLIW DSPs and DSP coding would be desirable. Candidates must also have a solid academic record with a 1st or 2:1 from a reputable university.
