Job Description

The GNU Toolchain Engineer is more than just a compiler engineer, as
their responsibilities extend from the GNU Compiler collection to GNU
binutils (including the assembler, linker, symbol manager), GNU debugger
(with insight support), and elf2flt (the translator from elf to the
noMMU/uClinux file format) and various open source and propriatery
libraries (libdsp, newlib, libgloss, uClibc). The candidate must have
excellent C/C++ and assembly coding skills, be self-driven with
high-quality deliveries and needing as little as possible input. Provide
engineering support to customers in their applications or development
environments. Verifies problems reported by customers. Highly technical,
broad understanding of very complicated issues, but customer driven.
Teaches customers on how to use our products. Diagnoses and debugs
intricate and complex problems that customers are experiencing.




Qualifications

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
* BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields.
* Works well in a team environment
* Experience in writing and automating test scripts for regressions
* Knowledge of the embedded architectures (ARM or Blackfin preferred)


PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:
C/C++ expertise as well as deep understanding of compilers and makefile.
* hands-on software development experience in a commercially
deployed product.
* Experience developing and deploying products using gcc/Linux
* Experience in using and developing software development tools
(track record of contributions in at least one of GCC, GAS, GDB and GNU
Binutils)
* Full cycle of software development including detailed analysis,
design, implementation, debugging and developer testing
* Bachelors in EE or CS
